If your sofa has seating cushions that are fibre filled regular dressing of the suite is essential for the longevity of your sofa. It’s simple to keep on top off. Remove all cushions turn and if possible reverse with its neighbouring cushion. Plump cushions before replacing,  this will keep your cushions in good health keep there shape and reduce flatting over time.

Avoid sitting in the same place all the time. Try to alternate were you sit as this will even the wear across your sofa. A good idea is to occasionally change you room layout to encourage you to use other seats of your sofa.  Avoid sitting on the edge of seat cushions as this can cause them to misshape and increases wear.

If your home is empty during the day it is recommended that you draw curtains blinds to reduce direct sunlight on your sofa for prolonged periods of time. Sunlight WILL fade fabrics but this can be dramatically reduced by avoiding unnecessary exposure.

Remember the arms of your sofa are for arms. Avoid sitting on these or placing heavy objects on them as this can weaken or damage the frame.

Keep your sofa away from strong heat sources such and radiators. As a guide 30cm should be adequate.

Last off all we recommend that at least once a year you seek out a specialist sofa cleaning company to professionally clean your sofa. Remember most sofas with removable cushion covers are not designed to be machine washable due to the fire redundancy gel applied to the fabrics. Not only will this strip this special gel but will most likely damage your washing machine!
